What is a haenyeo?
A haenyeo is a traditional profession that involves diving into the sea with bare hands to harvest seafood. It is a profession that requires advanced skills to hold your breath and swim freely in the deep sea,
and harvest various seafood.

The education of Haenyeo Haenam is

02 Training course
1 Baby Sanggun Education Course, Weekday/Weekend Class (5 days)

- Qualifications: Completion of the Baby Sanggun training
3 Sanggun (Intermediate) Course, Weekday/Weekend Class (10 days), 80 hours
- Qualifications: Completion of lower-level military training
4 Target group (advanced) curriculum, weekday/weekend class (15 days), 120 hours
- Qualifications: Completion of the intermediate level military course
5 Haenyeo Haenam Professional Occupational Class, Weekday/Weekend Class (25th)
- Qualifications: Completion of target group (upper level)
6 Haenyeo Haenam Instructor Course
- Qualification requirements: Completion of target group and 200 material logs

03 Education benefits
Issuance of Haenyeo Activity Certificate
Exchange with marine environment experts and female diver mentors

04 Training application and reception
Eligibility: Healthy men and women who can live in a community
Documents to be submitted: Application form, health certificate (issued within the last 3 months), self-resume submitted through the website or in person
