07 Haenyeo Experience Procedure and Preparation
The Haenyeo Experience Program provides visitors with the opportunity to experience the daily life and work methods of Haenyeo firsthand.
The program proceeds as follows:
Pre-training: Brief introduction to marine ecosystem and haenyeo culture and safety training
Equipment and acclimation: Time to learn how to put on and use equipment such as tewaks, nets, and flippers.
Experience the pollution of marine marine equipment: Time to learn how to wear and use equipment for crafts, etc.
Haenyeo Experience: Experience harvesting seafood in shallow waters
Summary of activities: Checking the caught seafood and reminding ourselves of the importance of safety and marine ecosystem conservation
08 After the hands-on experience, summarize the activities
After completing the experience, participants will have time to share the results of the activity and their impressions. This will help them understand more deeply the importance of marine environmental conservation and the value of traditional haenyeo culture.
